Saving Face with Marc Jacobs

The designer who tends to first define, then redefine the fashion world’s rules every year (including the man-skirt movement), has launched a line of eye-catching cosmetics. Debuting exclusively at Sephora and a few Marc Jacobs stores, the collection of 122 products range in price from $18 to $78 and include foundations, eye shadow palettes, blushes, lip products, and 24 shades of nail lacquer.

Forging fabulous as only Marc can, the collection also includes the “Boy tested. Girl approved” collection that features a brow tamer grooming gel, mint-flavored lip lock balm, and a concealer pen that promises to erase any signs of last night’s over-indulgence.

Inspired by Mr. Jacobs’ black lacquer coffee table, the packaging is as edgy as the collection itself. As the story goes, Marc drove his team relentlessly for six months to achieve the deepest, shiniest black (“blacquer”) and corners that rounded in just the right way. This, ladies and gentlemen, is Marc’s world, a strange and wonderful place where fashion’s rules are rewritten seasonally.
